Today, we made Valentine's Day cupcakes (thanks, Mom, for sending them, but we couldn't bake them on Valentine's because we were in Jakarta without a kitchen). I told her that that Nana sent them for her. So, today we made pretty cupcakes with pink frosting and little heart sprinkles to make them even more pinkalicious! YUM!
Once Catelyn got done decorating them she admired the beautifulness (is that a word?) and just stared at them. I was enjoying watching my little girl admire her creation and just watching the enamored look on her face. But, then she looked up at me with her sweet compassionate eyes...and I knew. She asked, "Mom, can we give some cupcakes to people who don't have much food?" Of course she knew the answer. So, off she ran to give a cupcake to the Indonesian guard of our housing compound. She can speak Indonesian, so I saw her sitting and talking with him for a couple minutes, and then she ran back with a huge smile on her face! My heart was smiling too. I love this little girl.
