So this the first time ever "blogging" for me (Corey). I must say, it is quite intimidating beings I have seen and read so many skilled bloggers in the past. I must preface by saying, I may be one the most boring bloggers you will encounter. My greatest apologies.
For all who are not aware, my last day at work was Wednesday. It was very much a day of mixed feelings. More than anything I just felt like there is a ton of unfinished work there. Over the last couple of years, I have tried to keep this mentality before me that the workplace is a huge part of my mission field. It has truly been an entirely different work experience than I have been used to in the past. My goal before was to always be the best worker not for the sake of witness as much as it has been about money. Here, my goal has been more than anything, to win people to Christ. All this being said, a stark reality has hit me over the last week or so. Funny thing you should know, is that I am not the only person God uses. Imagine that!!! As I had been down and out about leaving all the people that I had invested in over the last two and a half years, I was blessed to see that the guy that is taking my place, loves the Lord. So with that, I guess God's word once again proves me wrong and Him right in saying "The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers" (1 Cor. 3:8&9a). I guess it is a testimony to the fact that we live a very individualistic faith that is so very contrary to the truth of how Christ wants His people to live and work together to build His Kingdom. Anyway, lesson learned..........for now.
More to come in the future so stay tuned.
