God truly has a special and unique place in my heart...and I know that I do in His as well. It's the simple, yet personal, gestures that He chooses to do that reminds me just how intimately acquainted with my thoughts and heart He truly is. As I shared in my last post, I am very much a scent-oriented person. I deeply appreciate pleasant smells. My God knows this, He created me in this way. He sees the smile that appears on my face when I walk into an area with a fresh and sweet fragrance in the air. He knows that the simple aroma of a flower can turn a sad/bad mood into a good one for me. My heart is cheered by sweet smells. He knew all this about me. He also knew that my candles would be taken from me for His good purpose. And so, once His purpose had been accomplished, He sent me a gift; one that He knew would touch my heart. One that I would know was directly from Him. He doesn't have to bless me with gifts, but He does...because He is a good Father. He enjoys seeing the smile on my face because He is my Father. And so...I thank Him for His lovingkindness towards me.
I found this growing in my yard...a Plumeria tree - my special and well-chosen gift from God.
It gives off the most sweetest smell (eat your heart out Yankee Candle!), it vibrantly displays the most perfect color (yellow is my favorite), and it brings back such wonderful memories of my honeymoon (one of the sweetest times in my life). Thank you, Lord. Indeed, every perfect gift comes from above!
I share this with you, not to show off the gift (though it is wonderful), but the Giver (who is FAR greater!). He is incredible! He is majestic! He is altogether wonderful! He cares for me, and He loves me. I know this full well...and I love Him in return. I do hope you know this love too.
