{Today we are celebrating 11 years of "I have. I do. And I will."}
This man looks at me with such love in his eyes, as though looking at me for the first time on our wedding day. He takes great delight in making me laugh. He engages my heart and mind with his carefully thought-through words. He tenderly helps unearth the impurities within me by pointing me to the Cross and the purifying grace found there.
This man who was perfectly chosen for me has been so good to me. So good for me. Of all the blessings and benefits that I reap from being his bride, there is but one that I adore the most. One that causes such a deep-seeded gratitude within me that it leaves me breathless.
Experiencing Jesus.
Because of the tender leadership, strength, and integrity of my husband, I am blessed with the gift of experiencing a foretaste of the immeasurable beauty and joy of one day being the Bride of Christ...forever!
If I experience this much love and joy from my earthly husband, how much more will it be when I am united with Christ in marriage! Such glorious and inexpressible joy awaits!
So I gladly place my hand in his and allow him to lead...because I know and trust the One who leads him...and the destination is glorious.
O Lord, I thank You for the gift of my marriage. Please continue to strengthen it with each passing year. Use our marriage, both the joys and the struggles, as an illustration of Your beauty, forgiveness, and grace. We walk hand-in-hand to the praise and glory of Your name. Amen.
