All Things in One

As I sit before the soft glow of the Christmas tree this evening, with only the white lights from the tree illuminating the room, my soul is stilled. My thoughts turn to that first Christmas. The breath-taking awe that must have been experienced that blessed day when God, in human flesh, entered into our world.

Complete, breathless awe.

O Jesus, You are miraculously all things in One! You are the long-awaited Promise! The One who will fully heal my deepest wounds and magnify my highest joys. In You I have all that my soul and heart could ever long for!

Forgiveness.

Freedom.

Hope.

Love.

Redemption.

Peace.

Joy.

Mercy.

Justice.

Proof.

O Jesus, You are the image of the invisible God: God Himself made visible for us. Is there anything more wonderful and miraculous as this?!

"For in [Christ] all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form..." {Colossians 2:9}

"'Behold the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,' which translated means 'God with us.'" {Matthew 1:23}

God with us.

This baby, swaddled in cloths, lying in a manger is the answer to all of our desires and longings. He is the fulfillment of every longing heart. He is the "yes" from God.

"For all the promises of God find their Yes in [Christ]." {2 Corinthians 1:20}

Join me in making time this week to sit and dwell upon the sheer greatness of this good news; this gift of Fulfilled Promise that was given to us long ago...and that is still being given to us today - Jesus.

He is for all people in all places from all backgrounds!

Hallelujah!

O, come let us adore Him!
