It's fun to be in Jakarta as it's a nice start to the transition into the culture. Some people speak English and lots of signs are in both Indonesian and English. So, it has been nice to be able to look at words on signs in both languages to be able to start understanding them. So, we don't feel TOO lost.
Something else that is fun is that they have a lot of restaurants that we had in the States such as Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, and others. They even have fast food that we're used to: McDonald's, Wendy's, A & W, and Burger King. But a small difference is that these fast food places DELIVER! We thought that was pretty funny. The signs have phone numbers on them for delivery. We haven't tried that out yet, nor have we gone to any of them, but we wish we would have brought our camera along to take pictures of the signs! We did, however, enjoy a meal at Chili's today...classic nachos...YUM! A small taste of home before we head into Salatiga tomorrow!
